How Far They’ve Come
The act of recording videos of the opening event of an Apple retail store has been around since the first one. Compare that one from Tyson’s Corner in Virgina to these latest ones from the Fifth Avenue store in NYC:
Compare and contrast. You have 30 minutes. You will find scrap paper under your seat.
And for places outside the US, not much changes.
Yorkdale Mall, Toronto
Ginza, Tokyo (see if you can pinpoint the exact moment that people don’t even know what they’re lined up for anymore)
Regent Street, London
Also Regent Street (the next morning). Is that the “Hustle?” How brazen of them…
So what have we learned? Don’t go to an Apple store on opening day if you want service.
